Theater stage with dramatic spotlight and velvet curtains

Build the Stage Behind Tomorrow's Stories.

A private workshop for beginners merging stagecraft with intelligent technology.

Step Behind the Curtain

The Workshop

Meridian Stagecraft Workshop is a working laboratory, not a lecture hall. Students learn by running cues on real rigs, writing automation algorithms for scenery, and training intelligent lighting systems to respond to actor movement.

We believe the future of theater is built backstage—where code meets curtain, and where sensor data becomes dramatic instinct. Under the guidance of working designers and engineers, you will develop practical fluency in stage automation, intelligent lighting control, projection design, and interactive performance systems.

Every student leaves with a portfolio of realized systems, not just theoretical notes.

Classes

Four core disciplines. All practical. All hands-on.

Automated stage machinery and chain motors

Stage Automation

Motors, pneumatics, and rigging intelligence. Learn to program safe, repeatable scenic motion using industrial controllers and AI-assisted emergency-stop protocols.

Concert lighting beams piercing through atmospheric haze

Intelligent Lighting

Algorithmic cueing and sensor-reactive washes. Build lighting states that adapt to performer position and tempo using DMX networks and machine-learning classification.

Abstract projection on geometric stage surface

Projection Design

Spatial mapping, real-time rendering, and content pipelines. Design projected scenery that deforms to physical surfaces using AI-assisted edge blending and perspective correction.

Immersive performance environment with audience and light

Interactive Performance

Sensor networks, audience agency, and adaptive narratives. Create systems where spectator biometric data and mobile interfaces reshape plot and staging in real time.
